Containers as a Service

Run a container on cas.run and it gets a hostname. Your GitHub SSH key is your login, and the first container is free while this is an alpha. It runs on one small machine, and is not for anything you cannot afford to lose.

Quick start

Three commands. The first checks the key you connect with against your GitHub account and writes a token for the CLI.

Use the SSH username that matches your GitHub login, and make sure the key you connect with is on your GitHub account.

What you get

  • A hostname per service name-login.cas.run
  • HTTPS on it, automatically wildcard certificate
  • Kept running restarted when it exits
  • Volumes that outlive restarts counted against your disk
  • Logs and a dashboard CLI and web
  • Your own domain with a second unit

Pricing

  • First container free
    64 MB. Your GitHub login is your account.
  • More units ask
    A unit is one service, 64 MB of a memory pool your services share, and a gigabyte of disk. The alpha is free, with the units above for everyone. Pricing comes later. If you need more now, ask the operator.

A container takes 64 MB unless you ask for more, up to 256 MB. A bigger one uses more of your containers' worth of memory. Containers run on box, a small container runtime, on one shared machine. The docs say what is and is not supported, and the terms say what you agree to.
